The vehicle has averaged right under 1,800 miles per year, that's low considering most average drivers put 8,000-10,000 miles per year on " weekend " vehicle. The british racing green was a limited production in 1991, mazda made 4000 of these and this one is number 3803. The car has the factory hard top, power windows, leather seats, limited slip differential & cruise control. The car also has the original owners manual, 2 keys, original tonneau cover for the convertible top and the original full tonneau cover for the whole passenger compartment ( never been used ). The previous owner bought the car brand new back in 06-25-1991, it has been with them for 22 years and was very well kept. It has been garaged it's whole life, the paint looks excellent with a deep glossy shine. There is no clear coat issues or rust anywhere on the car, the lower rocker panels & lower fenders are 100% rust free ( see photos ). The interior is also very clean with no unusual stains on the carpet or seats, there are no odors in the vehicle either ( non smoker ). All of the factory vin tags are present, there is a vin tag on the driver front fender, passenger front fender, driver door, passenger door, driver rear quarter panel, passenger rear quarter panel, hood & trunk. Mechanically the miata is in excellent shape. I put a total of 150 miles on it, 100 of those was straight highway driving at 70 mph and the car runs excellent. It starts right up and idles smooth, accelerates smooth and shifts smooth through all 5 gears with no issues. It drives nice at highway speeds ( 65-70 mph ) with no steering wheel vibrations or abnormal noises and it drives great in town. It's just a very well kept vehicle and i wouldn't hesitate to drive it to florida and back. Within the last 10 miles we had the car fully serviced and inspected by a ase certified mechanic. He put it up on a lift and inspected the undercarriage ( no oil or coolant leaks ). He replaced the timing belt, roller, tensioner, water pump & thermostat. The engine oil looked new but i asked him to replace the oil & filter anyway, and the tires are new. All other maintenance was up to date and the car comes with a nationwide warranty at no cost. It's hard to find a 22 year old vehicle that was owned by the same person since new. Most of these have changed hands 4 to 5 ( or more ) times, some have been modified and some have had an accident or two. The car has averaged right around 540 miles per year, that's really low considering most drivers put 10,000-15,000 miles per year on a vehicle. I bought this car from the original owner. He is 94 years old and was the owner of a mazda & gm dealership in lafayette indiana. He had 15 vehicles that was in his personal collection and this was one of them. He retired from the dealership and passed it down to his children, and finally sold his personal vehicle collection. He kept his collection in a climate controlled garage and his kids kept the vehicles maintained. They started and drove the vehicles 4 to 5 times a year, and serviced them once a year. The car also comes with the original "certificate of origin for a vehicle". This is a certificate given by the manufacturer to a dealer so they can apply for a title. All new vehicles come with cov. On the back of the certificate it shows his dealer name and address as the original dealer. I also have the clear indiana title ready to be signed over to the new owner. He ordered it with the following options: factory hard top, a/c, power windows, cruise and limited slip differential. There is not a whole lot to say about the exterior & interior condition, the best way to describe it is that the car looks and smells like a 10k mileage vehicle should. No rust or damage on the exterior, no odors or stains inside the car (non smoker). Everything is original other than the wheels. Mechanically the car is in excellent shape, it starts idles and accelerates with no unusual noises or hesitations. The transmission shifts smooth through all the gears and the streering feels nice and tight with no abnormal play. Within the last 10 miles i had the car fully inspected and serviced. The mechanic put it up on a lift and inspected the engine/transmission and rear end. The engine/transmission or rear end does not have any leaks and there is zero rust underneath the car. The car was undercoated in the early 90's. The previous owner also had the fenders, doors and quarter panels rust proofed by ziebart. The oil was very clean and clear but i had the mechanic replaced the oil & filter anyway and he used mobil 1. The ac and heat works great, power windows work, power mirrors work, cruise works just like it should, brake lights & turn signals work and so does the radio. To sum it up, this is a very well kept 91 miata that would make someone a great vehicle. This is a very clean 1991 mazda mx-5 miata with 9,555 orig miles. The car has averaged right around 480 miles per year, that's really low considering most drivers put 3000 to 5000 miles per year on weekend vehicles. Mechanically the car is in excellent shape, i put around 100 miles on it and it drives great. It starts, idles and accelerates with no unusual noises or hesitations. The transmission shifts smooth through all the gears and the streering feels nice and tight with no vibrations at highway speeds (65-70 mph). Within the last 10 miles i had the car fully inspected and serviced. The mechanic put it up on a lift and inspected the engine/transmission and rear end. The engine/transmission or rear end does not have any leaks and there is zero rust underneath the car. Im not sure if mazda undercoated these from the factory, but this one has undercoating underneath. The oil was clean but i had the mechanic replaced the oil & filter anyway just to be safe, he also replaced the timing belt due to age, replaced the spark plugs, replaced the spark plug wires, battery is new and so are the tires. The ac and heat works great, power windows work, cruise works just like it should, brake lights & turn signals work and so does the radio. The exterior of the car looks great and has the original paint, the paint has a nice deep gloss and the interior is very clean with no stains on the carpet, floor mats or seats (non smoker). The car has 3 keys, owners manual, original key code card and a car cover. None of the body panels have been replaced and all factory vin tags are present. There is one on both front fenders, hood, trunk, doors, quarter panels, front and rear bumper. All are visable in the pictures other then the front & rear bumper vin tags. The front one is located behind the bumper underneath the passenger side turn signal, and the rear vin tag is behind the bumper underneath the red passenger indicator light. To sum it up, this is a very well kept 91 miata that would make someone a great vehicle. Not many 1st generation miatas around with less than 10,000 miles, this one would make a great weekend vehicle or even a collector car. After i took the pictures the car went back inside my garage under the car cover and will be there until the next owner takes delivery.
